Cookie policy
Updated 19 July 2026. A cookie is a small file or similar identifier stored in a browser or device. This page explains how the PowerNest online store uses cookies and similar technologies.
1. Managing consent
Necessary cookies are set without separate consent because they are required for operation of the website, cart, checkout, security and language selection. Analytics and marketing cookies are not activated before consent. The cookie banner provides equally accessible options to accept all, reject non-essential cookies or manage detailed preferences.
You can change your choice at any time using the button in the footer. The consent choice is stored for 180 days, after which it may be requested again.
2. Cookie categories
| Category | Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Cart, checkout, session, security, language selection and remembering the cookie choice | Provision of the service and legitimate interests; separate consent is not required |
| Analytics | Measurement of website use, performance and errors | Consent |
| Marketing | Advertising measurement, targeting and campaign tracking | Consent |
3. Necessary cookies
| Name or group | Service | Purpose and retention |
|---|---|---|
powernest_cookie_consent |
PowerNest | Stores cookie choices for 180 days. |
woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart |
WooCommerce | Remembers the cart contents and changes during a browsing session. |
wp_woocommerce_session_* |
WooCommerce | Connects the cart to an anonymous or logged-in session. The normal duration is approximately two days, but configuration may vary. |
wp-wpml_current_language or equivalent |
WPML | Remembers the website language for the session or according to the WPML configuration. |
| WordPress login and security cookies | WordPress | Used only for logged-in users and administrators for authentication and security. |
4. Stripe and payment cookies
When a customer opens checkout or makes a payment, Stripe may set cookies or similar identifiers for payment security, fraud prevention and technical processing of the transaction. Stripe determines the names and retention periods of these identifiers. Identifiers necessary for payment are used to perform the transaction; identifiers used for other purposes are activated according to consent and the Stripe configuration in use.
5. Analytics and marketing
The theme does not install an analytics or advertising service by default. If Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or a similar service is added later, it must be connected to the PowerNest consent system so that non-essential scripts do not run before the user gives consent. This cookie policy must also be updated to match actual use.
6. Browser settings
You can also delete or block cookies through browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent the cart, checkout, login or language selection from working.
7. Contact
